NicheESE Ep. 1
I have decided to have my own little series on my blog. It’s going to be discussing niches, and what I think they are along with the craze of them and access to them.
Niches are an interesting thing. In my lifetime as a person who looked at niches, I have noticed a few. Some of you may remember the notorious PROXY age or the Myspace resource pages, the directory phase, too many to count. Why do these get so popular though? What is it that made people choose to go for niches instead of investing their money into a larger, maybe more beneficial project? Well let’s look at the reasons:
- Easy to access: You could find a free proxy, Myspace or directory script anywhere. Just use a certain Google search like “free proxy script” or “free directory script” and there you’ll have your answer.
- Popularity factor: This one is pretty obvious. Whenever a niche is at large, and you see people selling the websites for fair amounts of money, you want to get in on that too. With the amount of times your eyes saw those proxy sites selling for hundreds, even thousands, you wanted to get in on that. I sure as hell did!
- Ease of creation: Most of these scripts are just: download, unzip, upload, step one done! It’s so easy to do it, why wouldn’t anyone go for it? Even the big dogs could make a little extra on the sides with such ease.
- Capitalization: I was a big fan of this. Once I recognized that these niches might die out soon, I figured out a way to capitalize on the market. I, myself opened up a proxy building shop, where for $20, I would build a proxy site for the person and get traffic/revenue to it. Easy job for me, it was almost automatic. Through that, I made over $2K. That’s nothing compared to some other people though. They totally dominate with add-ons, resources and whatnot, and whether free or paid, they capitalize on it somehow.
Hope that answered some of the basics of why Niches are so popular. In the next episode of NicheESE, I will discuss how to know when a niche is dying and when to stop.
Until Next Time
