The Basics, The Performance and The Sickness

Wow, long time no update. XD My dancing skills have increased a fair amount since the last time I posted. We’re still doing “You Ain’t Know” but now we have added “Spit Ya Game” by Biggie to the list. We’re on a Hairspray theme too so we’re practicing songs like “The New Girl In Town” and “You Can’t Stop The Beat”. Considering my teacher was in Hairspray, I guess she’s focused on making great choreography for it. Basically, the guys are the accessories to the girls’ dances since the Hairspray parts are more or less focused on the girls. It’s not BAD, it’s actually fun. It’s fun to be cheesy and corny but it’s also energetic.

WE’RE PERFORMING ON JUNE 29TH!! I’m nervous, but recently, I watched a Macbeth presentation and one of the actors said himself, “Whenever I think I’m nervous, I just say ‘I’m not nervous, I’m excited!’ and my nervousness slowly dissapates.” It’s an interesting concept and it works! Distractions also help, if I’m distracted before the performance, I’m not focusing so much on how much I remembered or how nervous I am.

I’m getting into the basics of hip hop dancing. I purchased a How To Breakdance DVD and it’s proven to be quite effective. The only problem is that I’m too weak for some of the moves. That means I have to focus on losnig weight and gaining muscle this summer. No more McDonalds for me! It’s all healthy eating and working hard. Learning the basics is really fun to be honest. I believe that working from the bottom to the top proves to be stronger than being a genius at it from the start. Hard work beats genius in my opinion, simply because you have more effort going towards it. That’s why I’m so focused on getting stronger, slimmer and becomine a better dancer.
I’m sick, but I don’t think it’s much. I’ve been coughing more than usual but it hasn’t really affected my performance. To be safe though, I’m going to the doctor’s tomorrow to see if there’s anything I can get prescribed to me. It wakes me up sometimes but I’ve chosen not to think about it in a bad way and just continue to do what I do best: practice!

Well, that’s a small update but I hope it’s an effective one. Hope y’all liked it.

DLM Dance Studio - Day One

Today was my first day at DLM Studios.

One word. HORRIBLE. Nah, I’m lying, it was GREAT! The owner and the staff are extremely EXTREMELY nice and the dancers + choreographers are awesome! The only condition is that you speak up and ask questions when you need help with something. That’s the whole point of the lesson. If you don’t get something, ASK! Simple.
Anyway, I can’t wait for day two. We started out with a great song: You Ain’t Know - Lil Wayne. I wasn’t expecting this to be a fast paced dance but surely the choreographer proved me wrong. This dance is fast but it actually goes along with the beat.

Anyway, off to practice!

JABBAWOCKEEZ

Oh man that was AWESOME! Jabbawockeez totally RIPPED THE STAGE!! =D I feel bad though, because I really wanted Status Quo to win. They had it the roughest, coming from the streets with no money and risking everything. Now they have more exposure though and they’re bound to get a nice smexy contract!

Out Of The Webmaster Game

Whoosh…never saw that coming…XD I’m lying. I saw this coming from a while back, but I never wanted to express it because I thought I would be stuck with it forever. Straight to the point, Webmastering is not my passion. I have been trying to force myself to make it my passion but it just doesn’t fit my life style. I made/make a fair amount of money off of it, but I’m just not happy when I sit down and clickity-clack and typity-type.

What is my passion you ask? Well, I always had a thing for rhythm…dancing, music, lyricism, poetry, instrumentals, etc. I’ve always loved that type of thing. And it’s about time I pursue that interest.

Anyway, this blog won’t be about webmastering anymore. It’ll be about my adventures. Random updates, my personal life, my stray away from webmastering, etc.
